I arrived early -7:00 – to get the traps down for any birds that wanted to feed. I should have stayed in bed. Although I heard a couple of Horned Larks in the distance, there were no birds around. I waited an hour and a half and the only “action” was a Horned Lark that walked past the traps but 4 meters away from them. Since I still have a lot of data to enter I decided there was no point and pulled the traps at 8:30. I took a slow ride through the countryside on my way home. I didn’t see a single bunting. Ominous…….
