Joanne Goddard has been running an innovative bird banding program at Kerns Public School in Temiskaming, ON for a couple of years now. She works with students to capture and band Snow Buntings throughout the winter. In addition to the educational value of this program, their banding efforts have helped establish that some of the birds we’re getting in southern Ontario are coming from the north rather than from the east (down the St. Lawrence).
