It was a stellar first official day of fall migration monitoring. Faye and I ended up processing 99 birds of 34 species, 76 new and 23 recaps. It was very busy until about 11 am. I wasn’t able to get out to do a census until later in the day, but I did pick up a first of fall PALM warbler. The banding highlight was the CONNECTICUT WARBLER [we get only about one of these a year and here it shows up on the 1st day!!]. It was a great morning, and I was glad to have such a skilled helper.
